Call for Espresso Maker Suggestions

After 9 years of daily use, our Starbucks Espresso Maker needs to be retired. I've been researching a new one and have the Breville BES820XL on my short list. Unfortunately I cannot find any reviews because it was just introduced last fall.

Does anyone have feedback on this model, or recommendations for an Espresso maker for home use?

We've used a:

http://coffeegeek.com/reviews/consumer/rancilio_silvia

for over 5 years and never had mechanical issues with it. It's built like a tank and we get good caramelized shots out of it regularly, but of course it takes time and experimentation to get technique down properly.

a $500 espresso maker made in China...sounds so wrong...coffeegeek.com reviews of the predessor model were scathingly negative..suggest spend time on coffeegeek or wholelattelove.com - excellent reviews at both...also, don't be a guineapig with a new model - buy a proven hit...

the rancilio silvia is a proven performer, for sure

some good choices to consider:
Isomac Rituale
Expobar Brewtus
La Scala Butterfly
Pasquini Livia 90

Easy recommendation: the Nespresso Essenza (I would add their steamer). Every cup is perfect, with a lovely schiuma, done in seconds without any clean-up.

be aware that the Nespresso line only works with coffee pods you buy from Nespresso...so be sure you like their coffee before you buy the machine! I've heard some good, some very bad comments about it, but one thing is sure: you'd be giving up any opportunity to take advantage of all the coffee varieties and roasting expertise we have available here in Portland...

Nespresso delivers cold espresso compared to most reasonably good espresso machines...
